The target market was Syncrude's many stakeholders, including investors, employees, suppliers, government regulators and the general business community. The result was Pure Energy, a high-quality and engaging magazine that tells the story of Syncrude from its inception to its community contributions, technological innovations and environmental stewardship. Pure Energy was delivered to more than 50,000 business readers, in Alberta Venture and through Syncrude's mailing list. There was so much interest in Pure Energy that Syncrude returned to Venture for a second edition. Pure Energy 2 was produced three years later, to salute the completion of Syncrude's $2 billion upgrader expansion project. Also, Syncrude used the magazine as a recruitment tool, distributing the magazine into post-secondary institutions nation-wide.

EPCOR sent a copy of Full Power to past and current employees and to suppliers as a way of saying thank you for their contributions. EPCOR also wanted to use the magazine to expand its reputation nationally, as part of its strategy to increase its client base, to shape attitudes about power generation and to enhance the profile of its publicly traded entity. To that end, Venture coordinated the distribution of Full Power through both Alberta Venture magazine and throughout the country as an insert in the Globe and Mail. case study Client: Alberta Ballet Magazine: First 40 Years Circulation: 39,600 Target audience: Target audience: Alberta Ballet subscribers and readers of Alberta Venture magazine The dynamic nature of the Alberta Ballet was translated onto the pages of an anniversary publication in 2006.
